Broken Rubber Typeface

Project description: This was a personal project. The inspiration for this typeface was broken rubber bands. There were quite a few in the "junk drawer" as well as a rubber band ball.

Role in Project: Designed the individual letters and poster for the typeface. Rubber band pieces were photographed with each letter separate. Shape were traced in Adobe Illustrator. The typeface is shown in two weights. Colors chosen for the posters were those found in the rubber band ball.

Calamari Stew Typeface

Project description: This typeface was developed with the incorporated elements of water and waves. The typeface was printed on a postcard, which doubled as a recipe card, by showing a recipe for baked squid on the back.

Role in Project: Designed the typeface on paper first. Then scanned typeface and traced in illustrator. Once vector paths were created, typeface was imported into Fontographer and actual font file was created.

Poem Type Experiment

Project description: I call this an experiment rather than a design project. This is a poem I wrote and I wanted to incorporate the idea of personality into the spoken word into the visual word.

Role in Project: Page layout and experimented with different sizing, shapes, and placement of words.
